Those players who are worried about animal violence can be reassured right away that in this release of Red Tiger, there will not be any actual bullfighting taking place. The bullring remains empty throughout the entire game, despite the fact that the audience seems rather enthusiastic throughout the event. There's a nice overview of the arena provided by Bulls Run Wild, with the 5x3 grid sitting right in the middle, of course, as you would expect. The bull in the game is wild, and at every stage of the game, you will get the chance to undergo random wild transformations.

With the Wild Picker feature, you can do this, and wilds will become sticky in the bonus round if you choose to use them. While there are no new or unusual features to be found in this rather simple installment, we still found it to be a pretty enjoyable experience all the same. In the wild transformation feature, you can expect decent top-up wins quite regularly, and in the bonus round, you have the chance to win as much as 1,888x as well. Red Tiger is not aiming for ‘slot of the year’ with Bulls Run Wild, but it’s an okay shelf-filler.

The bull is a symbol that appears on the Wild symbol, which can be substituted for any regular pay symbol to complete a winning combination. It is possible for the wild to appear on all 5 reels of the slot machine, and they will also pay 15x your stake if you get 5 of them.

The Wild Picker Bar located on top of reel 4 shows a random pay symbol that is chosen for each spin, as can be seen in the screenshot below. If any symbols on the reels match the selected symbol in the Wild Picker, those symbols will turn wild, and any wins resulting from the wild transformation will be paid after the wild symbol has transformed on the reels.

In the free spins bonus round, the silhouette of the bull appears on the scatter symbols, and the Bonus Round is activated when you land three of these symbols anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5. The biggest difference between this game and other ones is that the wild symbols remain sticky for the duration of the feature. Due to the fact that scatters cannot be landed during the bonus round, there is no way for the bonus round to be retriggered.

Summary of the review

Our team found that the bird's eye view of the bullfighting arena gave the game a sense of spaciousness with plenty of room to breathe, making it one of our favourite games. The fact that the bullring is empty is somewhat strange perhaps, but we can see how actual bullfighting animations in the background could be too much of a distraction (and perhaps also too controversial). A full screen of wilds pays "only" 300x your stake for a full screen of wilds over the course of a game. The "ay" you get per wild transformation gets a bit repetitive after a while.

As for Bulls Run Wild, there isn't much to talk about in terms of revolutionary features, but the Wild Picker feature does do a good job at bringing some life into the base game on a regular basis. The bonus round offers plenty of opportunities for you to accumulate sticky wilds, and this can lead to decent back-to-back wins, especially towards the end of the feature when you have accumulated plenty of sticky wilds. There is no doubt that the 1,888x potential is not something to be excited about, and this is especially the case when you are dealing with high volatility.
