Review of the Big Game online slot machine

You can't play a slot featuring symbols from the African savannah without thinking of MicroGaming's infamous Mega Moolah. Although Saucify has created a solid slot with Big Game, it is not on the same level as other slots. It has a very basic game play, a single free spins feature, and a lot of irritating sounds. The slot is light-hearted and cheerful, and there are some opportunities for big wins - though there is no progressive jackpot.

I like the graphics and some of the animals are cute (the smiling Meer cat and slightly goofy looking Hippo, for example). Playing card symbols are not present on this slot, which I always consider a plus. Rather, a whole host of animals appear, including a lion, a hyena, a zebra, and a baboon. An African tone is set by a constant drumming sound in the background. You hear a strange 'tune' when you win. It doesn't seem to fit with the theme if this is supposed to represent something. Sadly, it repeats twice for each winning line (along with basic animations from the symbols) and becomes very annoying very quickly.

When the elephant triggers free spins, a 3x multiplier is applied - resulting in some big prizes. Despite wilds and scatters being present on the reels, this game does not have any special features.

In addition to the graphical touches, there aren't many differences in the free spins game. During the game, you'll get 2x wins and slightly more intense music to keep you entertained.

Playing the big game: Setup and setup

As with most Saucify slots, this one has a 5x3 grid with 25 selectable win lines. Your coin size (between 1c and 10c), the number of coins per line (between 1 and 15), and the number of lines (1 to 25) are all customizable. Minimum and maximum spins are 25c and $37.50c, respectively. Without having to click, you can choose auto-spin for up to 100 spins.

There is no doubt that the king of the jungle (the Lion) is also the king of the pay-out table. Five times this symbol on a line will net you 6000 times your spin amount, and four times it will net you 800 times your spin amount. Additionally, the Lion acts as a wild symbol, substituting for all other symbols except the elephant (scatter). Any win that includes this wild symbol is doubled. These wins are doubled and multiplied by three during the free spins feature.

The following are the remaining animal symbols, with their payouts for 5 of a kind: Rhinos (3000), Hippos (1000), Leopards (800), Oxons (350), Giraffes (240), Zebras (200), Ostriches (150), Hyenas (120), Baboons (75), and Meer cats (50).

There are two ways in which elephants can bring you prizes. In the first place, three or more of these symbols trigger the free spins round. There is a chance to win 10 spins for a 3, 15 spins for a 4, and 20 spins for a 5. There are scatter wins for elephants anywhere on the reels as well. With 5 you will win 100x your total bet, with 4 you will win 20x, 3 you will win 5 and 2 you will win 2x.

Game Bonus Round in the Big Game

A free spins feature is the only feature of this slot. There's nothing different on the reels, but you'll see a countdown of your remaining spins and your total win at the top. During this bonus, wins are tripled, making the biggest individual win (5 wild lions) an incredible 18000 coins. When you get a wild in a winning combination, your win is doubled and then tripled - meaning you can earn some big prizes. Adding more spins to your total is possible if you hit three or more additional elephants.

Final thoughts on the Big Game

Despite its basic design, this slot is solidly constructed and enjoyable to play. Graphics are excellent, giving this game a lighthearted feel. It is not obtrusive to hear the drums, however, the sound of the win line is very awful. I may not return to this game due to the slow resolution of wins in combination with the slow resolution of wins.

There's also the potential for big wins, especially during the free spins game with a 3x multiplier. It could be the right slot for you if you enjoy lining up cute Meer cats or Hippos. Having said that, there are more interesting titles within the Saucify range.
