Theme, Graphics And Soundtrack

Asgard Warriors combines Norse mythology with an earthbound setting. Featuring mountains, lush forests, looming storm clouds, green hills, and choppy waters of a fjord, the grid is a simple wooden board.

To be honest, the visualisation is a little tame. Artwork seems old-fashioned, not quite naturalistic, but not quite stylised either. Furthermore, 1x2 missed an opportunity by failing to add any animation to the background - at least the waters could have been animated.

Symbol illustrations are similarly non-committal. The gods and goddesses of war are powerful, but they seem underwhelming. Additionally, there are only a few bursts of framing fire on the reels. It also lacks a soundtrack, which is not always a bad thing since getting good original music commissioned can be expensive, but Asgard Warriors really feels like it needs something else to boost its excitement. The only sound effects are cowbells as the reels spin, thumps as the reels land, and the sound of a sword being drawn when a winning combination is formed. I don't think it looks or sounds very contemporary.
